Father's Day Trip

Well, Mike and the boys returned from their big "weekend" away. They went to New York and went fishing and camping, they must have more scrapes than I've ever seen on their cute legs. They are all so into fishing now and are full of all types of stories. I hope to post a picture of their trip soon.

The wait.....

In just 5 days we will have reached the official 2 year anniversary of our LID date..June 28, 2006...It's hard to believe that our daughter isn't with us yet...We all know that the wait will be worth it and we just try to focus on how great having a little sister will be.

The wait.....

So the waiting began and is still going.... In five days we will have reached an
"official" 24 month wait. Since they say that they expect the wait to be 3 - 3 1/2 years it looks like we have another year or more. I know that it will be worth it.
We have decided to bring the boys with us to China when we go since they will be at least 13,10 & 7. I originally felt that the trip would be much too long but the more I think about it the more I know that the value of going to meet their little sister cannot be measure.

The beginning

On February 8, 2006 we went to the Orientation Meeting at our Adoption Agency in Brookline, MA. It was probably one of the best experiences for us. From the moment we left that meeting we knew for sure that we wanted to adopt a daughter from China. Of course at that time we extremely naive, when they told us that the wait was about 15 months we assumed that 15 months from the day of that meeting we would be traveling to China. That time frame would have us bringing home our daughter in May of 2007. How wrong we were! I know that the "wait" is only supposed to encompass the time from your LID date to China until your referral arrives, but I feel that is inaccurate. The wait to me is the moment we filled out the paperwork to start the process. To us we have already been "waiting" for over 28 months! I'm sure that anyone going through this process can relate.
